Material Handling Equipment Replacement
Our extensive experience in the design and install of dust handling systems proved invaluable when challenged with improving throughput and reliability of an industrial process. The solution included an upgrade of an existing baghouse to a larger unit. To minimize any impact on production, the replacement effort took place as part of a planned maintenance outage.
For the benefit of efficiency, components for the new baghouse system were pre-assembled on site. A new 300 HP motor and fan sized for the larger baghouse were also pre-installed. Once the outage was underway, all equipment and ductwork were disconnected from the existing baghouse. Critical lifts to extract the old unit and place the new 90,000 lb. unit were accomplished safely and within tight space constraints. New ductwork was installed along with additional structural supports. Instrumentation, calibration, and programming for the baghouse marked the last step in installation, with our team participating in startup and commissioning.
